Joseph Emberton
City of Westminster
Designed by architect Joseph Emberton as car showrooms for Julius Turner, the original design by Emberton had the building clad in black vitrolite, as at Owen Williams Daily Express building. This was a bit too modern for the Crown estate, the landowners of the building's plot. A revised design, with the original curves kept, but the vitrolite changed to yellow brick was passed and the showroom opened in 1937.
