George Finch

Lambeth

Tower block built as part of the Studley Estate on Binfield Road, Stockwell. It was designed by George Finch of Lambth’s Architect's Department (under the leadership of Ted Hollamby), in his distinctive fashion, with the block having a serrated profile. This arrangement allows flats to be distinct, and not just part of a homogeneous facade. At the foot of the tower is Surrey Hall, a community hall built in in-situ concrete with a cantilevered first floor.
